(Baonghean.vn) - The Vinh Airport construction project is invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation. The project is divided into 3 main works: passenger terminal, multi-level road, car parking lot and aircraft parking expansion.
The construction of the passenger terminal (with a total investment of 500 billion VND) was designed and built based on the idea of simulating the image of a lotus flower. The terminal is designed to serve domestic flights, with a total floor area of 11,706 m2, which can accommodate 2-4 million passengers/year and the waiting room is arranged for 4 peak flights with the number of passengers up to 1,500 people.
Mr. Bui Van Thang - Head of the Supervisory Team - Vinh Airport Project Management Board said: "The construction of this important project is undertaken by the joint venture of contractors Luu Nguyen Construction Company Limited - Hoa Binh Development and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - Dai Dung Mechanical Trading Joint Stock Company - European Plastic Window Joint Stock Company and Loc Phuc Company Limited. The construction of M&E and aviation technical systems is undertaken by the joint venture of VIC Construction Company Limited - HAAI Architecture Company Limited. This project started on April 26, 2013, and has so far completed over 90% of the work volume. The contractors are focusing on human resources and modern machinery and equipment to complete the project on January 15, 2015."

Currently, at the project to expand the aircraft parking area (construction area is 44,000 m2, ensuring 6 parking positions for ATR 72, A321 aircraft), the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 is also speeding up the construction progress and has completed more than 85% of the project volume. At the project, the Traffic Construction Corporation 4 has gathered hundreds of staff and workers and many types of modern machinery and equipment to determine to complete by the end of 2014, shortening the construction time by about 2 months compared to the signed contract.
With the determination of contractors, the Vinh Airport construction project will be completed on January 15, 2015, promptly meeting the travel needs of passengers during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
