About 7km from the center of Con Cuong district is a cave called Tham Phai Que by the locals. This cave belongs to Tan Huong village, Yen Khe commune, less than half a kilometer from the famous Nuoc Moc stream of Con Cuong district. |
The cave is located on a mountain range called Phai Que. The name of the cave comes from the name of a large irrigation dam built by the locals in the past. The cave entrance forms a large “porch” so many locals here often choose it as a place to avoid the hot sun in the summer. They set up beds, bring pots and pans to cook and eat here on hot days. |
The cave is like a house with 4 large “rooms” and some small rooms. All of these rooms are very dark. Visitors must use flashlights to visit this cave. |
On the cave walls are natural drawings. Sometimes it reminds people of the magical strokes of impressionist paintings. |
Another drawing closely resembles a "ghost figure" with flowing white hair. |
The cave ceiling is also a place for bats to hang. |

According to local people, this cave used to be a military weapons depot during the war. Now all the weapons have been moved away and the cave has returned to its thousand-year-old tranquility. |
In addition to its "scary" appearance, this cave also has countless beautiful stalactites. |
There are rock niches that evoke the idea of a path to heaven, a common image in the folk tales of the indigenous Thai people. |
