Increase monthly allowance for retired commune officials

Retired commune officials will receive increased benefits.

According to Circular No. 4/2017 guiding the adjustment of monthly allowance levels effective fromOn September 1, the monthly allowance for retired commune, ward and town officials will be increased.

Former Party Secretary and Commune Chairman received 1,846,000 VND per month.Former officials who are deputy secretaries, vice presidents, standing members of the Party Committee, secretaries of the People's Committee, secretaries of the People's Council, commune militia leaders, and commune police chiefs receive 1,786,000 VND per month.The remaining positions receive 1,653,000 VND per month.

Falsely reporting natural disaster forecasts can be fined up to 50 million VND

The Government has just issued Decree 84 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 173 of 2013 regulating administrative sanctions in the fields of hydrometeorology, surveying and mapping.

According to the new regulations, transmitting or broadcasting incorrect forecasts and warnings of hydrometeorological disasters will be fined 40-50 million VND. Sending news later than the prescribed time will also be fined 20-30 million VND.

The penalties for administrative violations in the fields of hydrometeorology, surveying and mapping have also been increased. While the old regulation only revoked the right to use a license for 3-12 months for violators, Decree 84 stipulates that the right to use a license for 3-24 months will be revoked.

The Decree takes effect from September 10.

Decree 90/2017 regulating administrative sanctions in the veterinary field, effective from September 15, clearly states that,For each administrative violation, organizations and individuals must be subject to a warning or a fine.The maximum fine for each violation is 50 million VND for individuals and 100 million VND for organizations.

Decree No. 88/2017 amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 56/2015 on the assessment and classification of cadres, civil servants and public employees took effect from September 15. This document has amended many criteria for classifying and evaluating civil servants at the level of completing tasks and completing tasks well, removing the requirement to meet the criteria of having at least one scientific work, project, topic or initiative applied and bringing about effectiveness in performing professional and occupational work recognized by competent authorities.

With this new regulation, from September 15, only officials who are assessed as having completed their tasks excellently must meet the criteria for scientific works, projects, topics or initiatives as above.Evaluation will be based on the amount of work performed. Evaluation criteria will be developed and decided by the heads of the agencies and units.
