As a poor household with "seniority", Nguyen Thi Thao and her husband in Giang Son Dong commune (Do Luong) managed to do many jobs but their life did not improve. In 2014, with the encouragement and help of the Farmers' Association, Thao's family borrowed 44.2 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to plant 2.2 hectares of acacia paper raw materials and invest in a chicken farm. After many years of hard work, up to now, Thao's farm has an area of nearly 10 hectares, including areas: chicken coop with over 2,000 chickens (at peak period over 5,000 chickens), ponds for raising fish for breeding, fish for meat, and forest planting areas.
