(Baonghean) - The epidemic situation is developing complicatedly. One of the most important measures is to promptly detect and control the epidemic on a small scale.

Farmers must regularly monitor, inspect, and supervise the health of livestock and the disease situation in the area. If a sick or dead animal or one showing signs of illness is discovered in the herd, it must be reported immediately to the village chief, commune veterinarian, or the commune or ward People's Committee (by phone or in other fastest way...).

From there, the Commune Veterinary advises the Commune People's Committee to establish an anti-epidemic committee at the commune and town levels (if it is a dangerous infectious disease and is on the list of diseases that must be announced). Isolate sick animals, monitor the development of the epidemic situation, treat the disease for livestock if possible or coordinate with the district veterinary. At the same time, organize and implement vaccination in the belt area for healthy livestock to reach 80% or more.

Anyone who comes into contact with sick animals and livestock equipment must wear protective clothing. After leaving the epidemic area, they must shower before coming into contact with family members to limit the spread of disease.

Treat sick livestock and dead bodies by: Burning and burying or cutting into small pieces weighing 1-2 kg, boiling for 45 minutes to 2 hours, then depending on the severity of the disease, there are different ways to treat it.

Disinfect and sterilize barns and livestock environments with caustic soda solution, Benkocid (2-3%), can add 20% lime water, brush 1 liter/1m2. Prohibit transporting, buying, selling and slaughtering sick animals in and out of epidemic areas. Prohibit or restrict vehicles, irresponsible people and some other animals from entering and out of epidemic areas.

At the same time, authorities at all levels should increase propaganda on mass media about the epidemic situation in the area so that people know and have plans to prevent the epidemic.
