Things to see from a fair…

(Baonghean) -Recently, in Vinh city, Nghe An, the North Central region Industrial and Handicraft Fair took place. The fair has ended but its echoes still linger.

With the advertisement "The fair has gathered more than 100 industrial and handicraft booths such as: wooden products, fine art stone, garments, household appliances, rice, electronics... of many big brands" many visitors hope to buy the items they like. But like many other customers, we are disappointed when the fair is not as expected.

Entrance to the Fair.

Many stalls have no name and look like "junk shops".

Apart from a number of booths introducing Nghe An handicrafts, the booth of the Market Management Department displayed counterfeit and fake goods in the area for the attention and distinction of many consumers, the rest were very poor in terms of quantity, variety of goods and quality, although it was considered a "good opportunity for businesses to exchange, learn experiences, and promote the development of industry and handicrafts in the North Central region."

Of about 100 booths, Nghe An has 30 booths, the rest are market goods of unknown origin, there is no sign of Nghe An's key industry or handicrafts, let alone... the North Central region. The fair has a banner with the organizers being the Trade Promotion Center, Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consulting Center... but searching the entire fair, there is no sign of anyone representing the above two agencies, only a few employees of Bac Ha Company performing specific tasks at the fair.

Asked a woman carrying her child out of the fair empty-handed, she shook her head, nothing. A resident standing nearby indignantly chimed in: Although there is no admission fee to the fair (during the day), the parking fee is up to 5,000 VND/time. Meanwhile, in the evening, there is a music show with the participation of many famous stars, but it is just cheap performances by less famous singers.

It is worth mentioning that, to have this fair, the governing body has built a large-scale project with a budget of hundreds of millions of dong, and in fact, the provincial budget has spent more than 100 million dong in exchange for… disappointment!

Not effective on a special meaningful occasion, but on the contrary, adding costs and worries about a fair that is neither a fair nor a market!
