Drink more water:Your kidneys are responsible for removing uric acid from your blood through urine. But when you drink too little water, they can't do their job effectively, leading to a buildup of uric acid in your blood over time.
So drink more water to help flush out toxins from your body. In fact, according to researchers at UCLA Health, women with gout should drink at least 2.6 liters of water a day, while men should drink up to 3.5 liters.
Low-fat milk:A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that people who drank low-fat milk or unsweetened yogurt at least twice a week had a 48% reduction in blood uric acid levels compared with people who did not drink milk.
Increase Vitamin C in your diet:Researchers at Johns Hopkins University found that taking 500 mg of vitamin C supplements daily for two months significantly reduced uric acid levels in the body. Vitamin C is exceptionally healthy without causing any side effects.
