2. Changes in the homeland of General Secretary Ha Huy Tap
During the revolutionary period of 1930-1945, all classes of Ha Tinh people under the leadership of the Party fought enthusiastically, contributing significantly to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 with the whole country. Then, during the 9 years of resistance war against France, the Ha Tinh Party Committee led the people to fight steadfastly, contributing with the whole country to defeat the invading French colonialists.
During the resistance war against the US to save the country from 1954 to 1975, Ha Tinh was “the rear of the southern front and the front of the northern rear”. Under the direct leadership of the Party, the army and people of Ha Tinh highly promoted revolutionary heroism, overcame all difficulties, and together with the whole country won many glorious victories.
The contributions and sacrifices of Ha Tinh to the resistance war against the US to save the country were enormous. In the period of 1960-1975 alone, Ha Tinh province had 92,913 young people joining the army (accounting for 10% of the province's population at that time); 334,128 people went to the frontline as civilian laborers, 10,636 youth volunteers; 13,024 beloved children heroically sacrificed on the battlefields. There were 164 units and 31 soldiers who were children of Ha Tinh who were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State; 1,853 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers...

In the process of national renewal, especially in the period 2010-2015, the Party Committee and people of Ha Tinh have strived to achieve many comprehensive and outstanding results in the following areas:
In the economic field: The economy has continuously grown at a high rate, with an average growth rate of over 18% in the 2011-2015 period; the structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry - construction and services, reducing the proportion of agriculture; economic restructuring has been actively implemented. In 2015, the average GRDP per capita reached over 44 million VND/person/year.
Planning and planning management work has been implemented synchronously and effectively, with a master plan for socio-economic development of the province until 2020, with a vision to 2050, with 8 key clusters of industries with high competitive advantages approved by the Prime Minister; mobilizing diverse priority resources for development investment, the period 2011-2015 reached 287,000 billion VND, an increase of more than 10 times compared to the period 2006-2010.
Agriculture and rural areas have developed quite comprehensively: Restructuring the agricultural sector and building new rural areas have achieved many results, being evaluated by the Central Government as a bright spot of the country, and being awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the Government. By the end of 2015, Ha Tinh had 52 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for nearly 23% of the total number of communes; there were no more communes meeting less than 8 criteria.
The province has built and developed more than 10,000 effective production and business models. Industry has made a breakthrough in both scale and production capacity. Small-scale industry has been focused on investment. The average industrial and construction production value in the period 2011-2015 increased by 38.3%. Up to now, the whole province has 2 economic zones; 19 industrial zones and clusters, small-scale industry, attracting 426 domestic and foreign investment projects, with a total registered capital of over 40 trillion VND and 20 billion USD.
Trade, tourism, service, import and export activities continue to develop, better meeting the needs of society. Financial, credit and banking activities basically meet the requirements of socio-economic development. Foreign affairs activities are increasingly expanding and developing, attracting foreign investment with high results. State management of natural resources, environment and response to climate change is strengthened.
In the field of culture and society: Cultural and sports activities have achieved positive results: Nghe - Tinh folk songs were recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; Great poet Nguyen Du was honored by UNESCO as a world cultural celebrity. The quality of education and training continues to be improved.
The work of protecting and taking care of people's health has made much progress. The work of creating jobs, reducing poverty and implementing social security policies has been focused on and achieved practical results.
