The brightest faces at Vietnam Film Festival 2015
The role of Uncle Ho by People's Artist Bui Bai Binh, the image of the boy Tuong played by Thinh Vinh... are both highly appreciated and have the potential to create a buzz at this Film Festival.
People's Artist Bui Bai Binh - The Prophet
The role of Uncle Ho has given People's Artist Bui Bai Binh the opportunity to completely transform on screen, not only in appearance but also in acting demeanor. Leaving behind the image of the naive Hoa in Mua guava or the scheming old Tong in Ma lang, People's Artist Bui Bai Binh successfully built the image of a leader with strategic talent but very close to the soul of simplicity and full of artistry.

Bui Bai Binh recalled that many years ago, when writing the script for The Prophet, Hoang Nhuan Cam said: "I wrote this role for you, you have to play it." Knowing his friend's joking nature, he accepted without hesitation. So when he received the official invitation from the screenwriter, Bui Bai Binh was both worried and hesitant.
With the script in hand, the People's Artist spent 6 months collecting tapes, photos and watching films about Uncle Ho. He carefully studied everything from the way he walked to the aura that radiated from his eyes before filming.
Truong Minh Quoc Thai - The Returnee
The role of Quang in Nguoi Tro Ve is the second time Truong Minh Quoc Thai has played a soldier. Before that, he was often assigned villain roles.

Playing the role of a soldier has long been Quoc Thai's dream. So when he was invited to play the role of a soldier in Those Who Write Legends (directed by Bui Tuan Dung) and The Returner (directed by Dang Thai Huyen), he gave up all the big and small roles in the South to go to the North to act. "There are very few war films in Vietnam now, so being invited to play is a rare opportunity. On the other hand, these are truly challenging roles, an opportunity for actors to overcome themselves. Being invited, as the Southerners say, "why would I give up" (laughs)", he confided in a press interview.
Dustin Nguyen - Win the lottery
Trung So is one of Dustin Nguyen's new successes because the film was filmed in only 18 days with a budget of 6-7 billion VND but earned 35 billion VND. Another thing that the overseas Vietnamese filmmaker is proud of is that Trung So was nominated to participate in the preliminary round of the 2016 Oscars, foreign film category.

However, the husband of former model Bebe Pham did not rest on his laurels but was quite alert when sharing with Zing.vn not long ago: "Although I love and am proud of my film, I don't think about bigger things. You know, Oscar is a land where many talented people gather, this category alone has 82 films participating so the race is very fierce. Currently, I don't think much about Trung So participating in the Oscars but try to make Trung So part 2. I'm reading the script for Trung So 2 and I feel very inspired."
Quach Ngoc Ngoan - Beauty
Causing controversy over its costumes and not having a cast that guaranteed box office success, Beauty faced many difficulties before its release. However, after the media premiere, the performances of the main actors such as Quach Ngoc Ngoan, Kim Hien... received much praise.

Quach Ngoc Ngoan's acting in My Nhan is considered to have improved a lot compared to Long Thanh Cam Gia Ca and Khat Vong Thang Long. No longer a "mobile vase", he knows how to use his acting ability and bring the audience some emotional scenes when watching the movie.
Thinh Vinh - I see yellow flowers on green grass
I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass is one of the most notable Vietnamese films of 2016. Adapted from the work of Nguyen Nhat Anh, the film is the story of two brothers, Thieu and Tuong, who grew up together in a poor coastal countryside in the late 1980s. Thieu is a bookworm, loves his younger brother, but also has many jealous complexes towards his younger brother.

The performances of the three child actors in the film were highly appreciated by critics, especially Thinh Vinh in the role of Thieu. Thieu is the “oldest brother” of the group, with a complex personality and psychology. With a very cinematic face, the 15-year-old boy plays the role naturally and convincingly.
La Thanh Huyen - The Returnee
La Thanh Huyen has played many roles in films from ancient to modern, from cinema to television, but her acting was not highly appreciated, the roles did not leave much of an impression. However, with the role of Ms. May in the new film by young director Dang Thai Huyen, the mother of one has made great strides in acting.

For this role, La Thanh Huyen did not hesitate to stand near places with explosives to be able to act as realistically as possible. When filming the scene of delivering a baby who was only 18 days old, La Thanh Huyen and Tien Loc also had to work continuously from evening until 4am.
She also soaked herself in cold water in 5-7 degree Celsius weather for many hours to perform a sweet kiss scene with Truong Minh Quoc Thai. In the last take, La Thanh Huyen fainted in her co-star's arms. However, both were satisfied because they were praised by the director.
Thuy Anh - Flapping in the Air
Thuy Anh's role in Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere once caused a stir in public opinion because of the hot scene between Huyen and Hoang (Tran Bao Son). Thuy Anh said that before filming, she and her senior actor spent about 15 minutes discussing and exchanging to be able to coordinate well. The two actors spent up to 5 hours to complete the scene according to the director's requirements. In the end, her mother and relatives all objected to Thuy Anh's hot scene, which made her feel very hurt.

Previously, Thuy Anh also revealed that director Nguyen Hoang Diep had to wait 2 years, until she turned 18, to officially start filming Flapping in the Middle of Nowhere. However, because she did not have much experience with life or pregnancy and childbirth, Thuy Anh had to go online to search for a lot of information to prepare for her role.
Truong Ngoc Anh - Huong Ga
Actor Tran Bao Son's ex-wife said she hesitated a lot before deciding to participate in Huong Ga. But then, Truong Ngoc Anh not only performed the emotional scenes but also performed the dangerous action scenes herself.

Huong Ga won the Best Feature Southeast Asia Panaroma award and Truong Ngoc Anh won the Best Actress People's Choice Award at the Film Festival of Globe 2015.
Thanh My - I see yellow flowers on green grass
Before playing the role of Man in the film directed by Victor Vu, Thanh My made many audiences' hearts skip a beat when she played the role of little Ai in the horror film Soul Snatching directed by Ham Tran in 2014. Both Soul Snatching and I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass are participating in this Vietnam Film Festival. Thus, Thanh My will have 2 impressive roles to compete for the Golden Lotus with older actresses.

Thanh My has never attended any acting classes and no one in her family pursues this career. But she is gradually maturing through each film. The child actress's father said that in the past, he sometimes practiced reading lines with Thanh My, explaining some words that she did not understand. But with I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass, she was able to be almost independent with the work assigned by director Victor Vu.
