(Baonghean.vn) - With its rocky terrain, Western Nghe An has many caves. These beautiful caves are associated with local legends, making them more mysterious and attractive.

Hang Bua (Chau Tien commune, Quy Chau district) is considered one of the most beautiful caves in Western Nghe An. This is also a tourist attraction associated with the cultural history of Phu Quy land. Every year, the local government and people in the area often organize the Hang Bua Festival with very unique cultural features. The festival is a long-standing spiritual and cultural activity of Muong Chieng Ngam, now in Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau). Photo: Sach Nguyen

Tham Bua Cave, the main space of the festival, belongs to the Pha En mountain range, a part of the Northern Truong Son range. This is said to be the place that marks the love story of Khun Tinh, a legendary hero of the Thai people of Nghe An. The land is also the place that marks the achievements of the Lam Son insurgents in the 15th century and the General Lang Van Thiet during the resistance war against the French. Photo: Ho Phuong

About 8 km from Bua Cave is Tham Chang Cave in Piu Village, Chau Thuan Commune, Quy Chau District. In Thai, Tham Chang means elephant cave. This is one of the caves with wild and mysterious beauty in the Western region of Nghe An. This mountain cave is about 1km long with extremely dangerous nooks and crannies. There is also a large stream running through the cave. Photo: Ho Phuong
Located right next to the Tuong Duong Sang Le forest is the Bat Cave (Tam Bong village, Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district). This is one of the majestic landscapes of the mountainous district of Tuong Duong. Photo: Ho Phuong
With a system of stalactites lying close together, stretching throughout, Bat Cave brings visitors interesting experiences. In addition to visiting Tuong Duong cajuput forest, this is one of the ideal destinations for those who love to explore. Photo: Ho Phuong
Currently, Bat Cave is still little known because the access is very difficult. In the near future, this is considered one of the must-see tourist destinations for those who come to the mountainous district of Tuong Duong. Photo: Ho Phuong
Tham Me Mon Mountain Cave (Chieng village, Quang Phong commune, Que Phong district). Located on a high mountain top, Tham Me Mon is not only beautiful with its system of stalactites but it is also associated with the history of the people in Muong Quang in the past. Photo: Ho Phuong
The highlight of Tham Me Mon cave is the rocks in the middle of the cave like Buddha statues, arranged in a methodical, eye-catching manner. Photo: Ho Phuong
In addition to famous tourist attractions such as Khe Kem waterfall, Khe Nuoc Moc, Pha Lai dam..., the mountainous district of Con Cuong is also known for Tham Nang Man cave. Tham Nang Man is located on the rocky mountain range at the beginning of Pha village, Yen Khe commune (Con Cuong), about 2 km from the town, less than 1 km from National Highway 7A. Tham Nang Man has a fairly large and flat area, a system of stalactites rich in shape, color, sound and is associated with a legend about love. Those are the things that make it attractive to tourists from near and far. Photo: Ho Phuong
Tham Tau Cave (Tat village, Yen Thang commune, Tuong Duong district). Local people compare Tham Tau to a giant turtle because the rocks in the cave look like the shell of a giant turtle. The mountain cave also has 4 cave entrances like the 4 legs of a turtle sitting on the Huoi Nguyen river. Photo: Ho Phuong
