ISIS supporters take over US military command Twitter account
They declared the Cyber Caliphate would continue its online jihad against the US military.
The Twitter and YouTube accounts of the US military command in the Middle East were hacked on January 12 by people claiming to be sympathetic to the Islamic State (IS) militant group that is currently being bombed by the US.
Hackers posted the following message on the Twitter page of the US military's Middle East Command: "American soldiers, we are back, watching your back - ISIS".

US officials have acknowledged the incident, in which their social media accounts were “taken over” for about 30 minutes, leaving them baffled. The FBI says it is investigating.
Pentagon spokesman Colonel Steve Warren said they viewed the incident as more than just a prank or cultural vandalism.
“It’s definitely inconvenient,” Mr. Warren said. “But it hasn’t compromised classified information.”
In a statement, US defense officials confirmed that military combat networks were not compromised.
After being hacked, the Middle East Command Twitter page posted the sentence “In the name of Allah the Merciful, the Online Caliphate continues its online jihad.”
This Twitter account posted a list of generals and the addresses associated with them.
As for the White House, their spokesman Josh Earnest stated that they take this issue seriously but at the same time emphasized that there is a big difference between “a large data breach and hacking a Twitter account”.
The chairman of the US House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee said that cyber attacks by jihadists cannot be taken lightly because these attacks will become more common if the government does not develop an appropriate strategy to deal with them./.
