With about 100 thematic seminars lasting for 3 days, more than 1,600 guests from 90 countries and regions focused on discussing sustainable growth, energy security, trade and investment.
Executive Chairman and Founder of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab said that the world is entering a new era of economic growth to build a fair society, improving life not only in terms of the quantity of products for everyone but also in terms of quality.
Mr. Klaus Schwab said that after the global financial crisis in 2008, countries need to rethink the world economic system and the process of making overall economic policies as well as those of each country and each business.
Mr. Klaus Schwab emphasized that each country should not only pursue its own economic interests but also the interests of all other partners, in which the world's needs and economic imbalances should be given special priority. The Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum hopes that this summer's Davos Conference will find long-term, dynamic policy proposals and new drivers for sustainable growth.
In his opening speech at this year's Summer Economic Forum, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang also affirmed that China's experience shows that, in the current period, only transforming and upgrading the economy can ensure sustainable development.
“From our assessment of the development potential of the Chinese economy, we have set a reasonable scope for economic activities to ensure steady growth with the lowest unemployment rate and a good control of the inflation ceiling. The key is that we must transform our economic model, focusing on restructuring, reform and innovation. We must unleash the full potential of domestic demand, the main driving force of innovation and the benefits of reform, and thereby stimulate market development,” said the Chinese premier.
Unlike the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the summer World Economic Forum in China is called the “Annual Meeting of the New Champions” with a development perspective mainly from Asian countries.
Entrepreneurs in the region expressed hope to seize opportunities during this pivotal period of global economic transition.
“The Summer Economic Forum is a global forum that addresses the movement of the world economy. I came to this conference to learn about the globalization trend and the future of businesses, especially IT corporations like us,” said Tian Ning, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pansi IT.
Today's prominent discussion sessions focused on the following contents: assessment of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's new economic policy (Abenomics), "The Future of Europe", "building an innovative economic environment".../.
