(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An has nearly 200 craft villages with a variety of different industries. Among them, there are craft villages that just by hearing their names, you can already "see Tet", filled with the flavor of Spring.

Visiting the Vinh Hoa banh chung craft village in Hop Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) in the last days of the year, one can see the bustling atmosphere and urgent preparations for the 2023 Lunar New Year. In the households making the cake, there are many dong leaves, banana leaves, green bean bags, and white sticky rice piled up in the corners of the houses... Photo: Thanh Phuc

The whole village has 200 households specializing in making banh chung, banh tet, and banh goi. Banh chung and banh tet are produced the most from the 10th lunar month to the end of the 1st lunar month. In the craft village, from children to the elderly have jobs: Children wipe leaves, split bamboo strips; the elderly peel onions, cut meat, cook beans to make the filling; those of working age clean sticky rice, wrap the cakes, cook the cakes, and transport the cakes to importers. Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, a villager, said: "Tet is the main cake making season of the year. Orders for Tet cakes from within and outside the province come in droves, making people work tirelessly. From the Ong Cong and Ong Tao Festival onwards, villagers stay up all night to meet orders. There are days when they can only catch a nap on a pile of leaves and sticky rice." Photo: Thanh Phuc

At the end of the year, the kitchens cooking cakes are constantly on fire day after day, without stopping. Photo: Thanh Phuc
Peach blossoms are considered the symbolic flower of spring. When Tet comes, almost every house has peach blossoms to display for Tet. And at the end of the year, traditional peach blossom growing villages such as Kim Thanh commune (Yen Thanh), Nghi An, Nghi Lien (Vinh city), Nam Xuan, Nam Anh (Nam Dan)... are busy taking care of the flowers to supply the market with colorful peach blossoms. Under the skillful hands of the people, peach trees are created in various shapes and sizes to meet the different needs of consumers. From affordable peach branches to ancient peach trees worth tens of millions of dong. Photo: Thanh Phuc

In the last days of the year, the peach village becomes even more bustling when large trucks, small trucks and traders from everywhere come to buy peaches. Photo: Thanh Phuc

In the last months of the year, the atmosphere in Tay Lan incense stick craft village (Nghi Truong commune, Nghi Loc district) also becomes busier and more urgent when orders increase sharply. During Tet, Ms. Le Thi Nga's incense stick production facility has to hire 15 people to work day and night to meet customer orders. Every day, Ms. Nga's two incense making facilities produce nearly 20,000 incense sticks. Photo: Thanh Phuc

Tay Lan incense sticks are mainly supplied to the market in the province, Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh. They are also exported to Laos and Cambodia. To meet the needs and tastes of customers, in addition to using traditional herbal ingredients, some stages of making incense have used machines to reduce labor, making the incense sticks more even and beautiful. In the months before Tet, in Tay Lan craft village, the "incense fields" stretch out, dyeing the whole countryside. After being packaged, the incense bundles will be transported to markets and shops to serve people to burn during Tet. Photo: Thanh Phuc
