When taking a vehicle for inspection, the vehicle owner will have to pay a fee including: Inspection service fee and fee for issuing a certificate of technical safety and environmental protection inspection of the motor vehicle. Representatives of the Vietnam Register have provided instructions for people to know the procedures and fees to pay when going for inspection.

Registration file

For non-commercial vehicles, the initial inspection period is 30 months, then every 18 months. When it reaches 7 years from the date of manufacture, the inspection period will be shortened to 12 months. If it is more than 12 years from the date of manufacture, the inspection period will be 6 months. Accordingly, the car inspection process will go through the following steps:

Submit application: The documents include vehicle registration, old inspection, civil liability insurance (insurance can be purchased at the counter), filling out the declaration and paying fees including vehicle inspection fee and certification fee. For cars, the inspection fee is 240,000 VND and the certification fee is 50,000 VND.

Waiting for vehicle inspection: In case the vehicle has a problem and does not meet the requirements, the inspection staff will read the license plate number so that the driver can take the vehicle for repair and then return later. Therefore, you should check the vehicle maintenance before going for inspection. If there is no problem, the inspection time is only about 5-10 minutes.

Pay road maintenance fees: If the vehicle meets the inspection standards, the inspection staff will read the license plate number in order for the driver to pay the road maintenance fee.

Stick new registration sticker: After completing the above procedures, the driver gets in the car to wait for the new registration sticker, receives the documents and leaves.
