Checking tires, changing engine oil, coolant... on hot days helps increase vehicle life and ensure safety when traveling.

The heat not only directly affects the drivers of vehicles participating in traffic but also causes some parts of the motorbike to quickly wear out and become overloaded. Therefore, if the owner does not pay attention to his vehicle, it can lead to dangers when participating in traffic.

Tires

Tires are the part that comes into direct contact with the road surface in hot weather conditions. Therefore, if the tire surface is worn, it will be very dangerous, leading to the risk of tire explosion. Moreover, continuous contact with hot road surfaces causes the air in the tire to expand, making it possible for them to explode at any time. Vehicles that often travel in hot weather should not inflate their tires too much to avoid tire explosion.

For tires with tubes, check the inner tube for any patches. If there are more than 2 patches, replace the inner tube to ensure safety.

Engine oil and differential oil

Motor oil or engine oil is also classified according to each type of vehicle such as manual transmission, scooter and clutch. Motorbike oil is completely different from car oil.

In early summer, you should change the engine oil to make the engine run smoothly, increase the ability to dissipate heat to help cool the engine. Moreover, the vehicle's user manual recommends using a higher viscosity engine oil in the summer. In addition to changing the oil, the oil filter also needs to be replaced regularly after about 3000 - 5000 km. Particularly for scooters, users also need to regularly check and change the differential oil (gearbox oil) every 3000 km.

Air filter

Like the lungs, the air filter helps filter out dirt and bring clean air into the engine. If the air filter is dirty, it will be difficult for air to pass through, reducing the amount of air circulating, causing the fuel to not burn completely. This causes the car to be weak, difficult to accelerate, or jerky acceleration.

In case the air filter is dirty, impurities mixed in the air entering the combustion chamber cause the mixture to burn richly, the fuel is not completely burned when released as black smoke. This is the cause of wasting gas.

Normally, air filters have a lifespan of 10,000 to 16,000 km. Depending on the type of air filter of each vehicle model and operating conditions, the maintenance and replacement schedule is different. With the harsh and dusty weather and operating conditions in Vietnam, the air filter should be replaced periodically after about 10,000 km and regularly checked and cleaned at the time of changing the engine oil.

Coolant

Previously, the cooling system was usually equipped on high-end scooters, but now even popular scooters or sport clutch models also use this system. In the summer, the engine needs more cooling, so it is necessary to check and add coolant.

Phenomena such as sluggishness, strange engine odor, easy stalling and temperature gauge showing red line are signs of low or insufficient coolant. Users should take the vehicle for inspection and add more coolant if necessary.

In addition, for water cooling systems, users also need to pay attention to checking water pipes, water tanks, etc. to avoid them from being clogged, causing cooling water blockage.
