Hong Kong protesters storm government headquarters
Hong Kong authorities have arrested several protesters.
At least 100 pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong (China) broke through police barriers to enter the Hong Kong government complex on the night of September 26.

The break-in happened just before 10:30 p.m. local time when the men broke through police lines to get inside.
Police had to use tear gas to disperse the crowd. About six people were arrested.
Students and activists have long protested a decision by Beijing in 2017 to scrap the electoral processes that had been in place in Hong Kong.
The attack on the government building came at the end of a week of student protests, in which thousands of university students walked off classes.

Protesters smashed barricades and climbed over fences to occupy the lobby in front of government headquarters.
Hundreds of people also gathered outside the complex, chanting “shame on the police,” the South China Morning Post reported.
But late on September 26, police were able to restore the fence around the area in front of the government headquarters.
Local media said police took personal information from some protesters before releasing them.
