Farmers in uniform
(Baonghean) - Since the beginning of 2014, "farmers in military uniform" have often appeared in the fields of Nam Kim commune, Nam Dan. They work in the fields, plant rice, prepare the land to plant beans and peanuts, and harvest crops diligently and diligently. At first, everyone felt strange, but when they learned that they were officers and employees of the Nam Dan District Military Command who came to help families of seriously wounded soldiers, everyone was very happy and joined hands to support.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tran Hong, Political Commissar of Nam Dan District Military Command, introduced: Continuing to promote the study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, in 2014, the unit chose to help two seriously wounded soldiers, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Khe Lau hamlet and Mr. Le Van Chat, Ha Truy hamlet, both of whom are 1/4 level wounded soldiers in Nam Kim commune. After understanding the circumstances of each seriously wounded soldier's family, officers and employees of Nam Dan District Military Command voluntarily contributed 1 day's salary each, with the collected amount of 20 million VND. Seriously wounded soldier Le Van Chat still has many difficulties in life, because his wife and he are old and weak, and their children work far away. The house where he and his wife live has not been repaired for a long time, so it is degraded. He and his wife are very worried every time there is heavy rain and strong wind. To help the couple overcome their difficulties, officers and staff of the Military Command supported the family with 10 million VND and all the labor days to repair the house, yard and build a fence around it. The couple's health was not good and they often fell ill. Officers and soldiers of the Military Command of Nam Dan district provided the family with their phone number so that whenever they received information that the couple was sick or had a change in weather, they could take turns to come and take care of them.

Seriously disabled veteran Nguyen Van Hong hopes that the Nam Dan District Military Command will help him build a livestock model to escape poverty sustainably. After his consent, with 10 million VND, the unit's officers and employees built him a system of cages (upper for raising pigeons, lower for raising chickens) of more than 200 square meters. When the model provided a stable income, the Nam Kim Commune People's Committee will publicize and replicate it for people to learn and follow.
Along with the above work, during the production process, every time the crop season begins, officers and employees of the Nam Dan District Military Command organize forces to help the families of two seriously wounded soldiers...
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tran Hong added: No matter where they are or what they do, the officers and soldiers of the Nam Dan District Military Command always remind each other to do good and useful things to be worthy of the blood and bone sacrifices of previous generations for the Fatherland. That reminder has helped the officers and soldiers to be dedicated to their work, to resolve all correct policies and regimes, and to absolutely not let any questions or complaints arise.
Currently, at the Nam Dan District Military Command, there are two children of seriously wounded soldiers working. Before joining the unit, they had never spent a day as soldiers. Therefore, to help them mature in the army, each officer and employee of the Nam Dan District Military Command volunteered to take turns accompanying and guiding them in learning regulations, shooting, etc. With the help of his brothers, Nguyen Tran Tuong Chu, an electrician and water worker, son of seriously wounded soldier Nguyen Tran Hai, currently being treated at the Nghe An War Invalids Nursing Center, has studied the Party's subjects and is preparing to be admitted in the near future.
