Drink ice water when thirsty

According to expert Le Thi Hai, Director of the Nutrition Examination and Counseling Center, National Institute of Nutrition, after a period of time outdoors in the sun, you may crave a cold glass of water, especially carbonated soft drinks, to quench your thirst.

However, this is not the right time to drink these types of water, they are even harmful to the body. According to experts, in cold water, the molecules are integrated so it is difficult to penetrate the cells. Therefore, after drinking, the thirst is still not satisfied. In the long run, this habit will cause the body to not have enough water to supply the activities of the cells.

One thing that people do not expect is that lukewarm or boiled water, cooled down can quickly replenish lost water. Because the molecules easily penetrate the cells faster than cold water.

In particular, we need to pay attention to people with colds, heatstroke, and sweat that cannot escape. Drinking cold water can also make the body unable to dissipate heat, increasing the risk of fever.

According to Ms. Hai, in the summer, you should drink filtered water every day, stay away from carbonated soft drinks and energy drinks. In addition, you can increase the amount of vegetable and fruit juices, eat more vegetables and fruits.

Besides, being lazy to drink water is a big mistake of many people, especially in the summer when the body loses a lot of sweat and salt.

This expert recommends that people should not wait until they are thirsty to drink water. By then, our bodies have lost a large amount of water, affecting the body's metabolism.

If this condition persists, it can cause blood thickening, affect the heart, and increase the risk of stroke in hot weather.

Using air conditioning too cold

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Bach Mai Hospital, said that a big mistake many people make is using air conditioning at the lowest temperature immediately after being exposed to hot temperatures outside.

According to him, the first thing you need to do now is to dry your sweat to avoid sudden cold. On the contrary, before going out, you should also turn off the air conditioner for 15-20 minutes to avoid too big a temperature difference between indoors and outdoors.

In particular, many households use air conditioning but still leave a pot of water in the room. This is very dangerous, especially for children, because the steam will attract dirt and disease-causing germs.

Dr. Dung recommends that when installing an air conditioner, you should have an additional ventilation fan to exchange air with the outside. The temperature in the air-conditioned room should not differ by more than 5 degrees Celsius from the outside. Families should regularly open windows to ensure air circulation between inside and outside.

Bathe immediately after sunbathing

When you just come back from the sun, your body sweats a lot and the temperature is high. If you take a bath right away, your body temperature will change suddenly, which is very dangerous and can cause a stroke. Therefore, experts advise you to rest in a cool, dry place before taking a bath.

For young children, Dr. Dung said that summer is also the time when parents often take their children to the beach or swimming. Children often love water, so parents who bathe them many times a day or soak them in water for long periods of time can easily catch a cold.
