Bad habits that cause belly fat
Belly fat not only makes you less beautiful but can also lead to many other health problems. Therefore, it is best to avoid habits that lead to belly fat:
1. Sedentary lifestyle
If you have a sedentary habit due to being busy with work or other reasons, you will be at risk of belly fat. An inactive body will not be able to burn excess calories. Excess fat will gradually accumulate around the belly.

When you're sleep deprived, your levels of cortisol, a stress hormone, increase. This makes you crave sugary foods. As a result, your waistline is more likely to expand.
3. Carbonated water
All carbonated drinks contain sugar. Excessive consumption of carbonated drinks can cause belly fat, especially for today's youth. When you are thirsty, drink water and avoid carbonated drinks.
4. Eat a late dinner
Food needs time to digest. For this to happen, you need to eat dinner at least 1 hour before going to bed, ideally 2 hours. And the rule is no dessert after dinner.
5. Protein deficiency
A healthy person needs 20-25g of protein at each meal. Protein helps balance blood sugar, reduce insulin levels and boost the body's metabolic rate. Protein also helps control hormones that cause hunger.
6. Low-fat foods
Eating a low-fat diet doesn't mean you're not at risk for belly fat. In fact, the popular belief that high-fat foods make you fat is also false. What you need is the right kind of fat. Monounsaturated fats like olive oil, sunflower seeds, and other nuts help eliminate belly fat.
7. Emotional eating
This is a condition where you tend to eat a lot when you are too sad or too happy and is a very bad habit that leads to belly fat. Although it is difficult, you need to consciously eliminate this habit.
8. Eat on a large plate
At parties, avoid using large plates for food. Large plates mean you have more space to put in more food. Instead, use medium or small plates to hold less food, but remember to avoid taking food too many times.
9. Skipping meals
It would be a mistake to think that skipping meals will help you lose weight because it will, in turn, cause you to eat more than usual. Instead of skipping meals, eat healthy foods every 2 hours.
10. Take a big bite
This is not only a bad habit that causes belly fat but also a bad eating habit that should be avoided. Make sure to take small bites and chew properly. When you take large bites, you will finish it faster and tend to grab more food, so it will be difficult to control your waistline.
