Concerns for employees in a private enterprise
(Baonghean.vn) - In an exemplary, sincere environment, there will be many individuals who strive to contribute and are kind. That is what can be easily felt at the Trade Union of Thien Phu Packaging Factory.
Portrait of a typical worker
Mr. Hoang Van Tuan has been working at Thien Phu Packaging Factory (Nghi Loc) for 5 years now. His job is to “keep the fire” so that the factory’s boiler never goes out - a job considered the hardest and most arduous in this factory.

It was not yet the hottest day, but anyone standing near the boiler door would quickly feel suffocated due to lack of oxygen and overheating. Next to the boiler were large piles of wood, mainly casuarina and eucalyptus - the raw materials used to maintain the operation of the boiler.
To complete his duties, Mr. Tuan is always the first person to arrive at the company, 30 minutes before the official working time. This is the time for him to clean the furnace, scrape the ash, light the fire, and run the microwave furnace. When everyone starts working, his shirt is already soaked with sweat from carrying large logs and from the high temperature of the furnace. From then until 11 am, when the morning shift ends, he changes his shirt many times. “Every day I bring two shirts to work. I sweat a lot so they are soaked in just a moment, I have to change them to ensure my health. Because the furnace is hot and the weather is sunny, the shirt dries quickly. As soon as it dries, I change it, continuously like that until the end of the day,” Mr. Tuan explained.

The hard work does not stop there. Tuan's wife is also a worker. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, her company has been working overtime, she works 12 hours a day, so Tuan has to make the most of his time to support the family. At 5am, he gets up to prepare breakfast for his children and take them to school. Even though he only has a break of more than 1 hour at noon, he still makes time to come home to feed his children. Sympathizing with his situation and appreciating his honest nature, the company's leaders and colleagues are ready to support and create the best conditions for him to both work and take care of his family.
Asked Mr. Tuan: “The work is so hard and tiring, do you want to find a better place?”, he smiled gently: “Before coming to this job, I had done many different jobs, in many different places, even exporting labor. However, most of them I quit after a short time, only here I decided to work long term. Maybe because I am more mature now, or maybe because I have fallen in love with the work and environment here. This is like my second family.”

It is not difficult to find evidence for the “family” atmosphere that Mr. Tuan mentioned. Because there are only about 50 people, and they have worked together for a long time, all members of the factory understand each other’s circumstances and personalities. In the noisy noise of machines and the enthusiastic, happy working atmosphere, everyone exchanges work with each other gently and always pays attention to support each other when needed. Mr. Tuan himself is the same, although he has the hardest work in the factory, whenever he has free time, he comes in to support everyone, tinkering with the machines to support each other later.
With Mr. Tuan's contributions, sense of responsibility and eagerness to learn, inDialogue with the Chairman of the Provincial People's CommitteeRecently, Mr. Tuan was honored to be recognized as one of the 50 outstanding workers of the province - a proud achievement.
Want to have a Party cell
“In our company, there are many “Mr. Tuan” like that,” said Mr. Bui Van Hung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Thien Phu Packaging Factory. He added: “Maybe the rest of the people are not as healthy as Mr. Tuan, the work is not as hard as Mr. Tuan, but they also have the same spirit of dedication, learning and sharing. That is also what I am very proud of in my unit.”

Explaining this, many workers agree that it is the dedicated, wholehearted, and thoughtful leadership of the company's leaders and the company's union that motivates them to go to work every day and find meaning and joy in their work. Not only buildingwelfare programsIn addition to providing practical benefits for workers such as salary, bonus, allowance, shift meals, travel, visits, etc., Thien Phu Packaging Factory is also the leading unit in Nghi Loc district in programs launched by the trade union organization. “I think that being a member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial and District Labor Federation is an advantage for the unit. Participating in the meetings of the Executive Committee, I clearly understand the spirit and thoroughly understand the meaning of each activity, thereby implementing it in the most timely and effective manner,” Mr. Hung confided.
During his 5 years as the President of the Union, with the viewpoint that once done, it must be substantial and thorough, Mr. Hung maintained the program.“Summer Cooling”weekly instead of daily; periodic health check-ups are conducted annually and seriously at the company instead of letting workers go on their own; every two years, workers get to experience new and attractive tourist destinations instead of just wandering around the province...

Thinking a lot, doing a lot, the Board of Directors of Thien Phu Packaging Factory has many concerns about building, developing the business and taking care of the workers. Mr. Hung said: “We sincerely want to establish a Party cell at our enterprise. With the leadership and direction of the Party, our enterprise will certainly have more advantages, and our voice will also have more weight. With many exemplary individuals with good moral qualities, we believe that our Party cell will be strong”. However, some shortcomings in monitoring Party members after studying Party subjects have made this wish impossible to realize. “We will continue to try and find suitable solutions to realize this wish”, Mr. Hung affirmed.
Sharing about the work of the Trade Union, Mr. Hung was very concerned with the idea of building a handbook of trade union activities to distribute to the grassroots. “In many grassroots trade unions, trade union officials do not have the opportunity to directly contact the instructions of superiors, do not have many opportunities to experience and learn about activities, do not have many ideas for activities... Handbookunion activitieswill provide them with accurate information and instructions from the organization, guiding them on how to do things effectively and accurately. From there, union activities will be more diverse and widespread," he said.
