The park will be located in the communes of Cúc Phương, Phú Long, and Kỳ Phú in Nho Quan district.
The project aims to help Ninh Binh become a national, Southeast Asian, and international center for the conservation of rare and endangered wildlife species. The wildlife conservation park will make a positive contribution to the preservation of rare animal genetic resources and the natural forest ecosystem of Vietnam.
Besides serving conservation purposes, the park also has the potential to become an attractive tourist destination. From the park, visitors can easily access Cuc Phuong National Park, the Bai Dinh-Trang An spiritual tourism complex, Tam Coc, Bich Dong, and Lich Dong. Experts estimate that these tourist destinations could attract up to two million visitors annually, creating jobs for approximately 1,000 to 1,500 people.
With a total land area of approximately 1,669 hectares, the park will have three main areas: a central area, an administrative area, and a service area. Wildlife will live in the central area. After construction is completed, the park will operate as a joint-stock company, with the state holding a controlling stake.
Construction of the park will begin in 2012 with a total budget of approximately 7.634 billion VND.
