Nissan representatives said the Nissan Note will be the first car in the world to be equipped with new technology that could make car washing a thing of the past.

Not everyone likes to wash their car, so Nissan has tested a new paint technology that can blow away mud, rainwater, and everyday stains, helping car owners never have to worry about washing their car again.

Scientists are developing a paint that repels water and oil. It has been used on the Nissan Note, making it the world's first self-washing car.

Nissan's new technology, called Ultra-Ever Dry, will be tested in real-world conditions over the next few months at its European technical centre, Cranfield, Bedfordshire, UK.

Explaining the principle of this paint, a Nissan representative said: "By creating a protective layer of air between the regular paint and the environment, it will effectively prevent water from condensing and stains from remaining on the car during use."

The Note also has the ability to clean and blow away dirt from the back camera. The camera uses water and compressed air to automatically keep the lens clean and ensure the surveillance device works in all different conditions.

“The Nissan Note has been carefully designed to deliver the ultimate in convenience for our customers, and Nissan engineers are constantly thinking of new ways to make life easier. We are committed to bringing the latest technology to our products,” said Geraldine Ingham, marketing director.
