French media reported that a homemade bomb exploded outside the Indonesian Embassy in France in the early morning of March 21 (11:45 a.m. Hanoi time). Although it did not cause any casualties, it seriously damaged many structures near the scene of the explosion.

Witnesses said three men placed a suspected bomb near the Indonesian Embassy in western Paris. One witness moved the package about 10 meters away from the embassy just minutes before it exploded. The explosion sent shrapnel as far as 50 meters away.

An investigation is underway. Police, firefighters and counter-terrorism units from the Paris Police Department are at the scene, dealing with the aftermath of the bomb explosion and urgently investigating the cause of the incident. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing.

The bomb explosion outside the Indonesian Embassy - the world's largest Muslim country - took place in the context of a high terrorist threat covering the whole of France after a series of bloody shootings in the past 10 days in the southwest of the country that left many people dead.
