At around 3:00 p.m. on August 16, a hot air balloon exploded on Nha Trang beach after being in operation for nearly 4 months.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thien Thanh - Director of Hot Air Balloon Entertainment Area of ​​Hon Tam Nha Trang Sea Joint Stock Company, at that time he saw dark clouds and storms coming, he ordered the technical team to anchor the balloon low about 5 meters above the ground, but the strong wind and whirlwind made the balloon swing back and forth for about 4 minutes, the balloon could not bear it, because the air was compressed and exploded like a balloon while it was raining.

According to Mr. Thanh, to ensure the safety of tourists, when there is a storm, the tourist area does not serve tourists so no murders occur.

According to Mr. Thanh, since bringing the hot air balloon from Hon Tam island to Nha Trang beach, this is the first time there has been such strong wind. Every day, the tourist area welcomes about 200 to 300 visitors. This explosion caused great damage to the company in troubleshooting.

According to Mr. Thanh, the company previously bought insurance for the balloon, but now it does not. He confirmed that the cause of the explosion was a natural disaster, and that it was too late to react. If the gas was released, it would have to be approved by the board of directors, and if the gas were released, the damage would be huge. Currently, if the repair is to be done, it would have to be brought abroad.

It is known that the balloon is worth 1.2 million euros, made by a professional balloon manufacturing company in Germany. It is 22 meters in diameter, has a night lighting system, flies high with a strong cable, the balloon is surrounded by 46 special plastic panels that are fireproof and can withstand strong pressure.

There are 48 small anchors and 8 large cables from 150 to 300 meters long holding the balloon to the passenger cabin. The passenger cabin is made of steel and can accommodate 25 to 30 people at a time, flying up to 150 meters. Inside the balloon is divided into 2 parts, one part is helium gas and the other part is natural gas.

The total area of ​​the entire area is 2,000 m2. The passenger compartment is a circular steel frame, held by synthetic ropes to the Balloon, surrounded by a mesh net to ensure the safety of guests.
