Efforts for green tea regions
For Nguyen Van Chau, a farmer in hamlet 5, Hung Son commune (Anh Son), the concept of "following" Uncle Ho is quite clear, simply actively participating in activities and movements launched by the locality effectively and thereby improving the economic conditions of the family.
He did what he thought. Hung Son commune promoted the tea growing movement, making industrial tea the main crop to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty in the locality, so his family actively converted the area of hill gardens and home gardens to grow industrial tea.
On the newly planted area of 0.5 hectares, he was concerned about taking care of the tea by using organic microbial fertilizers to create "clean" tea products, with high and stable productivity, and to increase the longevity of the tea garden. So he responded to the movement of making microbial fertilizers launched by the commune, studied, found documents and implemented composting according to the production process.
Thanks to that, more than 2 tons of bio-fertilizer produced by Mr. Chau ensures good quality, fertilizing tea for high quality yield. Only 0.5 hectares of tea of his family has an annual yield of over 10 tons of fresh tea buds, which translates to a yield of over 20 tons/ha for an income of over 25 million VND/year.
The strange thing is that thanks to the thorough implementation of organic microbial fertilizer solutions during the tea care and harvesting process, even during the hot and dry summer, many tea households' tea plants died and withered, but his family's tea garden was able to withstand drought well, remained green and gave stable high yields.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chau is not only a representative of the economic movement of Hung Son commune but also a typical example in donating land to expand traffic routes. 2 years ago, when the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune had a policy to plan and expand the rural traffic corridor, he mobilized his family members to agree and respond.
Based on the thought that if the village roads and alleys are wide and beautiful, then the house will be beautiful, and the crowded, unsanitary and traffic jams during harvest season will be improved.
So his family volunteered to donate a total area of 750 square meters of garden land, dismantled a pigsty, cut down 5 mahogany trees, and 4 jackfruit trees worth tens of millions of dong.
Thanks to his family's active, proactive and voluntary land donation, the movement to build rural roads in Hung Son commune has achieved good results, creating a favorable foundation for the commune to effectively implement the new rural construction program. Hung Son is one of the bright spots of Anh Son district in the movement to develop the economy from industrial tea trees. From the practical, simple and effective "following" of Mr. Nguyen Van Chau, many people in the tea area have learned and followed to improve their family's life from the local strengths.
