Effort for every goal, every job

(Baonghean) - In the context of the country's resistance war and nation-building, on June 11, 1948, President Ho Chi Minh issued a call for patriotic emulation to mobilize, gather, and orient the traditional patriotism and new actions of the people to protect and develop the achievements of the Vietnamese revolution under the leadership of the Party.

Throughout the past 65 years, patriotism has been a valuable spiritual motivation, creating a combined strength that has made an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland; making the country grow continuously and increasingly integrate deeply with the international community.

Anytime, anywhere, we can do good work if we know how to compete patriotically. A labor initiative of a worker, a charitable act of an old person, a perfect score of a student... can all be a manifestation of patriotic competition. People compete, industries compete, families compete... therefore, they do not become dogmatic slogans but the intrinsic needs of each individual, each collective, the whole community and, more broadly, the whole nation, to clearly know the value of each goal, the value of each action and work.

Patriotic emulation has quickly become a unique traditional feature in the national spirit, becoming a humane ideology naturally imbued in the thoughts and actions of each person, in the community in Vietnam with the aspiration and will to contribute to creating a more perfect and beautiful life.

There have been thousands of slogans and hundreds of movements that have aroused the sense of responsibility and duty of each person in the vital challenges of the Vietnamese revolution, to persevere in fighting and winning; that is the consistent persistence of the patriotic tradition that has been multiplied by patriotic goals and actions following Uncle Ho's call.

There have been tens of thousands of typical examples honored in the patriotic emulation movement in all fields of labor, production, combat, study, etc. for all classes, all components, and all ages. That honor is the reward of society for those who love their homeland and country; who know how to link the benefits of each action with the community's interests for the noble revolutionary goal.

Promoting the patriotic emulation movement following Uncle Ho's call in the country's renovation cause today is extremely meaningful, because only from there can we continue to multiply the strength of solidarity within the entire Party and the entire people to overcome obstacles and challenges of survival. Thus, every Vietnamese citizen, from today, can and must make more efforts to do better in their work and responsibilities!
