British historianRalph Ellis believes that the treasure500 tons of pure gold worth 3,000 billion USDKing Solomon's story mentioned in the Bible is just a myth, not true, according toIndependent.
After 20 years of research, Ellis believes that Solomon was not even the king of Israel but was in fact the Egyptian pharaoh Shoshenq I, who ruled Egypt and Israel in the late 10th century BC.
“According to the Bible, King Solomon was incredibly wealthy. But generations of theologians and archaeologists have searched the Holy Land for his capital, palaces, temples and riches without success,” Ellis said.
According to Ellis, we may be looking for things that aren't there or in the wrong place. "A rich and powerful Jewish dynasty existed, just like the one mentioned in the Bible, but they weren't just kings and their capital wasn't in Jerusalem," Ellis said.
Ellis believes that if his hypothesis is correct, Pharaoh Solomon's possessions are among the artifacts on display at the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities in Cairo.
