(Baonghean) -Although facing many difficulties due to mountainous terrain, transportation... but thanks to knowing how to promote internal strength, over the past 10 years, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Tan Ky has had strong development, with the appearance of many new models and factors...

With an area spanning 22 communes (including 3 communes in area 135: Tan Hop, Tien Ky, Phu Son and 12 communes with ethnic minorities living). In order to achieve high results in building a cultural life, Tan Ky district has strengthened the leadership role of the Party Committee, the management of the government from the district to the grassroots level; promoting the role and strength of the great national solidarity bloc. Every year, the district performs well the emulation and reward work, considering the target of building cultural, information and sports (VHTT-TT) institutions that meet national standards every year as a hard target in evaluating the emulation of the Party Committee and the grassroots government.

Mr. Bui Gia Ly - Deputy Director of Tan Ky Culture, Sports and Tourism Center, said: "On an annual and periodic basis, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in conjunction with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Center advises the District People's Committee to develop a plan to implement the movement with contents and objectives suitable to the conditions and characteristics of each locality and the customs and practices of each ethnic group. When implementing, we guide, propagate and mobilize people to clearly see the responsibilities as well as the benefits of the community, family and themselves when participating in the movement to build a cultural life, so the number of households voluntarily registering to build cultural families, villages and hamlets is increasing. Up to now, the whole district has 117/266 villages recognized as cultural villages, the rate of cultural families is 72.9%. All villages and hamlets have village covenants and conventions approved by the District People's Committee".

Village roads and alleys are increasingly concreted in Tan Ky.

The backward customs in weddings and funerals in villages and hamlets in Tan Ky are gradually being eliminated but still ensuring simplicity, solemnity, and inheritance of traditional customs... Many typical examples in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" have appeared such as: In Nghia Thai commune, thanks to good mobilization work, people voluntarily moved the cemetery out of residential areas; In block 8 (town), people voluntarily contributed hundreds of millions of dong to build a cultural house, reading house, welcome gate...

In order to preserve and develop the cultural features of ethnic minorities such as: bamboo dancing, throwing con, gongs, crossbow shooting and other traditional festivals as well as the melodies of Vi, Lam, Nhuon, Xap, Hat Xuat, Hat Xuat... Every year, the district organizes Sen Village Singing from commune to district level. Every two years, organize the Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival for the whole district. Every year, organize a typical cultural festival in villages, every two years at commune level. Form 187 clubs according to the colors of the organizations and interests of the people such as the clubs: Sports, Current events, Pre-marriage, Poetry, Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, No third child, Youth starting a business...

Up to now, 22/22 communes and towns and 167/264 villages and hamlets have art troupes. The whole district has 151 football fields, 334 volleyball courts, 246 village cultural houses, all communes have cultural houses with 100-150 seats... creating favorable conditions for all classes of people to participate in cultural, artistic and sports activities. The rate of school-age children is nearly 100%, many villages and hamlets have also built a scholarship fund, considering and rewarding good students who study well and pass the entrance exams to colleges and universities.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Lai - Secretary of the Party Cell of Block 8 (Tan Ky Town), said: "With the specific direction and guidance of superiors and the enthusiastic response of the people in implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", up to now, Block 8 has eliminated social evils. The face of the block has really changed when people voluntarily contributed money and working days to build public works serving cultural life. The block's cultural, sports and community activities have taken place enthusiastically and achieved high efficiency, attracting everyone from the elderly to children to participate".

It can be said that the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" in Tan Ky has had a practical impact on many aspects of the district's socio-economic life. The quality of people's lives is increasingly improved. In particular, through the movement, the district has mobilized many resources from the people to build cultural and sports institutions, creating conditions for people to enjoy spiritual and cultural products.

However, there are still obstacles that the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Ky need to overcome, that is, some villages and hamlets in Tan Huong, Huong Son, Tan Hop and Giai Xuan communes, due to difficult economic conditions, have not really paid attention to the work of caring for the construction of cultural life and preserving traditional cultural values, some establishments still rely heavily on the State's investment. The implementation of the policy of preserving traditional craft villages and stilt houses of the Thai and Tho ethnic groups is facing many difficulties in both awareness and policy mechanisms.
