Faced with that situation, the Provincial People's Committee directed Que Phong district to launch a high-profile campaign with the determination to maintain security and order in Khe Hang, and to resolve the situation once and for all to prevent re-offending. On June 29 and 30, 2013, Que Phong district People's Committee, with the support and assistance of Nghe An police forces, conducted a raid.

Immediately after approaching Khe Hang mountain - the gold mine area, the forces conducted propaganda, mobilized and drove away about 300 violators, most of whom were residents of Cam village, Cam Muon commune. Determined not to let the situation of re-encroachment, recurrence of violations of the Mineral Law and causing disorder and threatening the lives of the people, the working group proceeded to dismantle and burn the violating camps.
With the support of the Provincial Police, the working group detonated mines to collapse many existing gold mines, pits, and wells in the area. Nearly 500 kg of explosives were used. To stabilize the situation after the campaign, the Provincial Police planned to arrange forces to continue staying in Khe Hang mountain for many days.
