Shots fired to capture wanted suspect fleeing from court

At 0:38 on June 21, from the source of crime denunciations from the people, Ha Dong District Police (Hanoi) arrested dangerous criminal Nguyen Van Trung (born 1983; living in group 7, La Khe ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi) when the subject was hiding near the house of group 7, La Khe ward, Ha Dong district.

The arrest process took place to ensure the safety of the people and officers and soldiers. Although the subject Trung was very reckless, holding 2 sharpened iron pipes to fight back against the authorities, the Criminal Police of Ha Dong District Police promptly opened fire to control the subject.

Previously, on June 20, Hanoi City Police issued a wanted notice for Nguyen Van Trung (born in 1983; living in group 7, La Khe ward, Ha Dong district, Hanoi) for "escaping while being escorted".

On June 18, Ha Dong District Police reported to Hanoi City Police that Nguyen Van Trung escaped while being escorted by police officers to the courtroom of Ha Dong District People's Court for trial on charges of "illegal possession and use of military firearms" and "threatening to kill". While fleeing, one of the subject's hands was still handcuffed, the other hand was holding an object suspected to be a knife.

Nguyen Van Trung has two previous convictions and one criminal record. Most recently, in November 2019, Trung was arrested by Ha Dong District Police for “theft of property”. While on bail, he committed another case of “illegal possession and use of military firearms” and “threatening to kill” by using a gun butt to beat his girlfriend, causing her to become disabled. While the court was preparing for the trial, the suspect fled.
