(Baonghean.vn) - The news that two fishermen, Bui Van Hong and Vu Van Mich (Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu, Nghe An) murdered the Korean captain and chief engineer has left their relatives in their hometown confused and worried.

For a week now, the Quynh Long fishing village has been in an uproar after receiving news from South Korea announcing that two children of the fishing village, Bui Van Hong and Vu Van Mich, had committed a serious crime in a foreign country.

Fisherman Bui Van Hong, 32 years old, lives in Minh Thanh village. He has a wife and two children, the oldest is 4 years old and the youngest is 1.5 years old. The couple currently lives with their elderly mother, paternal grandfather and sister-in-law. After many years of fishing in all seas without success, Hong had to sell his fishing boat at a loss and apply to become a sailor on a Korean ship.

On February 10, 2015, Hong went to work in Korea under a contract with LOD Company. Hong's main job is as a sailor on an ocean fishing boat, fishing daily in the Indian Ocean. Occasionally, Hong calls his family and friends and tells them that working on a boat is stressful, often bullied by the captain, and plans to return to Vietnam in about 2 months when his contract expires.

Bui Van Men, Bui Van Hong's older brother, currently working in Taiwan, said: On the day of the incident, he received a phone call from his younger brother from Korea saying that the captain had given each worker 2 bottles of foreign wine. After that, all the workers on the ship got drunk. After drinking on the deck, the captain went up to cause trouble and used a knife to slash sailor Vu Van Mich's hand. Too panicked, Mich called Hong for help, Hong ran up to stop him but was beaten by the captain.

"I don't know what happened after that because the phone call was interrupted. I only heard one voice saying, "Please save me." After that, I learned that Hong and Mich had committed a murder and were arrested by the police," said Mr. Men.

Since receiving the notice from Korea, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam - mother of fisherman Hong, has been heartbroken. "The family is heartbroken, not knowing what happened. On the morning of June 23, we received a notice from LOD Company informing the family that Hong and Mich had murdered the captain and chief engineer in Korea. At that time, my hands and feet were numb, I could not believe it was true."

In the same situation as Hong, Vu Van Mich's family is also very difficult. His wife is unemployed while the family has elderly parents and 2 young children. Mich went to work abroad with the hope of escaping poverty. Unexpectedly, while his dream of changing his life was still unfinished, he caused trouble.

With tears in her eyes, Ms. Tran Thi Oanh (born in 1987), Mr. Mich's wife, said: "When leaving the country, the family borrowed money and mortgaged the bank to pay the brokers and do the paperwork. Now that he has been arrested, the family doesn't know how to handle it..."

Mr. Bui Cong Truong - Chief of Quynh Long Commune Police said: "We were surprised by the news that two cousins, Hong and Mich, murdered two people in Korea. Because these two young men are gentle people, have no criminal record, and are not the type of people who hang around. Currently, both families of fishermen Hong and Mich are very worried and hope to receive information about their relatives from the authorities.

On June 20, two Vietnamese crew members were accused of attacking the captain of the Kwang Hyun 803 ship, Mr. Yang, 43 years old, and a 42-year-old engineer, Mr. Kang, at around 2:00 a.m. on June 20. The two crew members were identified as Vu Van Mich (born in 1984), passport number B5136588, and Bui Van Hong (born in 1984), passport number B5811190, both residing in Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province. The two crew members entered and exited the Guang Hyun No. 803 ship on February 10, 2015.
