Faced with that situation, our province has directed the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to quickly approach and implement surgery for congenital heart disease in children. Implementing the approval decision of the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of the project of transferring and treating congenital heart disease in children, from June 1, 2011, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital boldly sent a team of 15 doctors and nurses to study at the Hanoi Heart Hospital to approach techniques from diagnosis to surgical skills; inviting leading experts, good doctors and nurses from the Hanoi Heart Hospital to perform surgery at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital to guide and guide.

Along with learning techniques, training human resources to access and master technology, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital has established the Center for Congenital Heart Surgery. The collective leadership, medical staff and doctors of the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital have made great efforts in both ensuring the task of medical examination and treatment, and building facilities, investing in purchasing equipment so that the center can be established soon... From July 29 to August 1, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital officially performed heart surgery for 2 sick children and from November 29 to December 1, the hospital continued to perform surgery for 4 other children, and at the same time launched the hospital's Center for Congenital Heart Surgery.

All 6 children who had surgery recovered well, are stable, and are gradually getting healthier. The hospital's goal is to perform surgery once a month, and 40% of the province's heart patients will have surgery at the hospital.

The establishment of the Center for Congenital Heart Disease Surgery is a great step forward for the Nghe An Health sector, the starting point for the project to build Nghe An into a high-tech medical center in the North Central region.
