According to researchers, temperatures rising to 35 degrees Celsius along with high humidity have begun to threaten human health.

According to the Daily Mail, many parts of India have experienced scorching days. The government said most of the deaths from heatstroke and dehydration occurred in southern states. However, the high temperatures in the coming days have spread to northern states.

History has recorded many terrible heat waves such as the 1995 Chicago heat wave that killed 692 people and sent 3,300 to the emergency room. Or the 2013 Australian summer heat wave that reached a record high when temperatures were consistently above 50 degrees Celsius.

Scientists say prolonged heat combined with high temperatures and humidity can cause forest fires, storms and floods, threatening human health and lives.

How does heat affect you? According to Live Science, the body functions best at 36-37.5 degrees Celsius and releases heat through sweating. When the environment is too hot or too humid, the body will sweat, increasing the risk of dehydration.

If the temperature is too high, the body will try to cool down, losing a large amount of water leading to exhaustion or heatstroke. If not compensated in time, it will lead to a decrease in circulating volume causing cardiovascular collapse, severe electrolyte disturbances that can lead to death.

According to researchers, when the temperature rises to 35 degrees Celsius with high humidity, it begins to threaten human health, and is more dangerous when it reaches 40 degrees Celsius. Temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius will become a terrifying threat.

However, the impact of temperature on the body depends on the physical condition and health of each person. Infants, young children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases will be most affected by temperature changes.
