Specifically, this agency said that in December 2015, 24 people died, then 49 more died. Previously, former Georgian Security Minister Igor Giorgadze also said at a press conference in Moscow that he was asking US President Donald Trump to open an investigation into the Richard Lugar Experimental Center in Tbilisi. According to him, experiments on human bodies were conducted here and caused deaths. He added that in December 2015, about 30 people were treated for hepatitis C and died, then in April and August 2016, dozens more people died, a total of 73 people.
The records of these deceased patients all stated “cause unknown”, however no investigation was conducted. What is special is that the patient records did not record specific names but were only numbered and only contained information such as year of birth and gender. The medical records stated that the patients were treated with a preparation called Sovaldi, produced by a facility owned by the then US Secretary of Defense, D. Rumsfeld. During this time in Russia, Sovaldi was still used as a medicine and did not lead to any deaths.
This proves that dozens of Georgians were treated not with sovaldi but with some other, completely different, and toxic, preparation.
“Such mass deaths force us to suspect that the Lugar Center is not a medical facility, but a testing site for biochemical weapons or a highly toxic substance,” said Igor Kirylov, head of the Russian Defense Ministry’s Bio-Weapons Countermeasures Force.
Yet the US is the country that has always spoken loudly about banning the research and use of chemical and biological weapons, and it is also the US that has clarified more than once that there is no biological weapons research at the Lugar Center.
It should be remembered that the United States has long refused international inspections of its research and development of these weapons. A thorough investigation at the Lugar Center would certainly make them afraid because it could lead to the conclusion that the United States has seriously violated the International Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Chemical Weapons.
