Mr. Hoang Van Dan in Block 4, Thanh Chuong town is one of the leading households in saving electricity. In particular, he made his own convenient and cheap "air conditioner". That is, using a ventilation fan installed in a foam box, connecting and arranging 3 rows of beer pipes as the core, then pouring ice into the sealed box... he has a cooler.

Mr. Dan said that the reason he came up with this method was because both he and his wife could not stand the smell of air conditioning. Mr. Dan's method has been effectively applied by many people in the neighborhood.

Mr. Nguyen The Giang's family in Ngoc Yen village, Thanh Ngoc commune (Thanh Chuong) only has 4 light bulbs, 3 fans, a rice cooker, and a water pump. Previously, he had to pay about 300,000 VND for electricity each month. Since 2016, having received the policy and listened to the technical staff of Thanh Chuong Electricity Company instruct on electricity saving measures, he has realized that this is beneficial for both the country and the family.

Mr. Nguyen The Giang in Ngoc Yen village, Thanh Ngoc commune has installed energy-saving compact light bulbs to replace incandescent bulbs.

Ang Giang went to an electrical store to buy 4 energy-saving compact light bulbs to replace the incandescent bulbs he had been using for a long time; moved the water pump to a suitable location to help the water tank fill up faster; took advantage of firewood from his garden to boil water, even used boiling water to cook rice to limit the time of using electricity. Thanks to that, after a year of implementation, his family saved about 70% of electricity compared to before and was rewarded by Thanh Chuong Electricity.

"I've heard about saving electricity on TV before, but I didn't understand it. Only when the technical staff of the Electricity industry gave me specific instructions did I know how to do it effectively," Giang shared.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Trung - owner of an electrical appliance store in Block 8, Thanh Chuong Town, recently, people who come to buy air conditioners are often interested in how to use them economically, so the store has printed instructions for customers to refer to. In recent years, due to the increase in economic life, the price of electrical appliances has decreased, so many people have invested in buying air conditioners. However, everyone recognizes it as a "money grinder". Since using air conditioners, the monthly electricity bill of many households has increased 2, 3 times, some households 5 times. To save money, in addition to limiting use, many people have researched online, newspapers, especially asking installation staff for advice on how to use them economically.

The principle of economical use is not to set the machine to too cold. When starting, it should be set at 22 degrees, after 15 minutes it should be increased to 25 degrees, after 30 minutes it should be stabilized at 26 degrees, which is appropriate. Use the remote control to change the cooling mode from “Cool” (slightly cold) to “Dry” (dehumidifying).
