Thanks to the experience accumulated through visits to the model of growing vegetables and flowers in greenhouses in Da Lat City, this winter crop, Mr. Hieu built 2 greenhouses with a total area of 550 m2 to grow winter crops.
Due to the characteristics of a coastal commune that often experiences storms, Mr. Hieu designed a net house with iron pipe pillars, surrounded by white nets and roof; the net house has a drip irrigation system to help save water, and has an auxiliary black net to help dissipate heat and prevent heat for crops in hot weather.

Mr. Ngo Quang Hieu said that the advantage of Quynh Luong commune is fertile soil with high porosity, suitable for growing vegetables and flowers. However, traditional farming methods have not yet brought high economic efficiency.
Therefore, he boldly invested 200 million VND to build this greenhouse. If successful, he will mobilize households in the commune to establish a project to grow vegetables in larger greenhouses, contributing to increasing vegetable productivity by 2-3 times compared to traditional farming.

After 3 months of construction, Mr. Hieu's 2 greenhouses were completed. To evaluate the productivity of each type of plant, he planned 1 plot for growing tomatoes (this is the main crop of the Quynh Luong color zone), 1 plot for planting 2,000 Dutch lilies and 1 plot for testing 1,000 Monkara orchids. For Monkara orchids, to create a fiber humus layer for the roots to absorb nutrients, Mr. Hieu built concrete beds and added 20cm thick peanut shell substrate.
Up to now, all 3 varieties of vegetables and flowers grown in the greenhouse have grown well, effectively limiting pests and diseases, and have never had to use pesticides.

According to the leader of Quynh Luong commune, although the locality has not yet provided financial support for Mr. Hieu's greenhouse model, during the trial planting process, the commune will send agricultural extension officers to regularly visit the model and provide technical support so that the model is successful, and use it as a model for the coastal vegetable growing area to learn from.
