Mr. Hoang Xuan Tinh’s family in Dong Tam hamlet, Quynh Bang commune has 4 sao of fertile land, growing vegetables such as white mustard, sweet mustard, kohlrabi, and cabbage. Every winter crop, he sets aside 2 sao to produce white radish.
Mr. Tinh said that the advantage of radish is that from planting to harvesting is only 45 days, it is very easy to grow, requires little care and fertilizer, has no pests; consumption is also favorable. This year, the plants grow quickly, green and lush; each sao gives him a harvest of nearly 3 tons of tubers. With the selling price at the field of 2,000 - 3,000 VND/kg, each sao earns more than 5 million VND.

White radish is only suitable for winter crop production, so out of a total of 200 hectares of specialized vegetable production, 40 hectares of Quynh Bang farmers grow this vegetable.
To somewhat limit the situation of good harvest and low prices, people no longer plant radishes en masse as before, but spread them evenly among other vegetables. In particular, this root is considered by people as "white ginseng" because it has many effects in supporting health and curing diseases, so there are times when prices are low but there is still no product backlog.

Currently, it is the harvest season so the fields in Quynh Bang are working hard, reaching a yield of about 30 tons/ha. At the beginning of the season, radishes are sold at 8,000 VND/kg, but in the main season, they drop to about 2,000 VND/kg. The selling price is low but the productivity is high, so each sao gives an average profit of 4 million VND.
Mr. Hoang Quang Dung - an agricultural officer of Quynh Bang commune said that every year, local people grow white radish and control the area within about 50 hectares. Radish is easy to grow so people are more careful in fertilizing it than other vegetables, do not need to spray pesticides, the yield and output are high and easy to sell.
Quynh Bang identified white radish as a vegetable that brings high economic value to farmers, so the commune propagates and mobilizes people to maintain production areas to meet the supply of this vegetable to the market.
