(Baonghean.vn)- Schools located on pesticide warehouses, environmental pollution from fishmeal processing factories, fishing ports turned into cow farms; the unfinished Phung Chi Kien historical relic project... are issues that voters in Dien Chau district are concerned about and petitioning about.

These issues were directly inspected by the Supervisory Delegation of the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee led by Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council on the morning of October 12.

The delegation directly inspected the site at the Phung Chi Kien historical relic project in Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district. The historical relic site has been under construction for 4 years since the commencement date but has not yet been completed due to lack of investment capital. Voters requested the Provincial People's Committee to allocate capital from the provincial budget so that the Phung Chi Kien relic site construction project can be completed as soon as possible.

However, during the construction process, the road leading to the relic site was damaged, with many potholes and mud in the rainy season, especially during the recent heavy rain, causing danger to road users.

Voters requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the People's Committee of Dien Chau district to invest in building a road to the relic site to facilitate the travel of local people as well as tourists visiting the relic site, especially in 2017, organize a ceremony to receive the Certificate of Phung Chi Kien relic ranked at the National level.

In Dien Ngoc commune, the Inspection Team inspected the actual situation of Lach Van fishing port, which has been silted up every year and has not been dredged, making it very shallow, making it difficult for boats to enter and exit, and having to wait for high tide to enter the channel. The locality has nearly 400 boats, including 76 boats with a capacity of 90-800CV. The difficulty for fishermen is that there is no place to anchor their boats. Voters want the channel to be dredged and cleared so that boats can anchor easily.

Also in Dien Chau, another pressing issue that voters are concerned about is environmental pollution. For many years now, people in Dien Ngoc commune have had to live with serious environmental pollution caused by factories and fish processing facilities. Although the fishing port is a food trading area, in recent times, waste from upstream has been dumped into the fishing port, making it a place to herd cattle, etc., which is unsightly and pollutes the environment.

Inspecting the scene, comrade Cao Thi Hien requested the Lach Van Fishing Port Management Board to coordinate with local authorities to be responsible for cleaning the fishing port area.

Regarding voters' reflection on environmental pollution, the Supervisory Team inspected the Dien Quang Primary School. The school was built in 1980 and is now in disrepair. In the 2004-2005 school year, the classroom floors were tiled, and classrooms were found to smell of pesticides. The school closed two classrooms with a strong pesticide smell. In 2015, the Dien Chau District Education Department requested the school not to use 8 classrooms in areas contaminated with pesticides, and since then, students at Dien Quang Primary School have had to study in 2 shifts.

Through many reports from the locality, the school and the press, relevant agencies have investigated, assessed and determined the pollution and the plan to treat and restore the environment, but the treatment is still slow. Dien Quang voters recommend that agencies and departments speed up the treatment process, restore a clean environment, and create favorable conditions for students to study.

Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council proposed that in the immediate future, the local government and the school must have solutions to tie ropes, create fences, and warn students not to enter or exit the heavily polluted area. At the same time, move the student parking lot out of this area.

In the afternoon, the Provincial People's Council's Supervisory Delegation will have a working session with the People's Committee of Dien Chau district to resolve opinions and recommendations of local voters.
