(Baonghean.vn) - Coinciding with the Vu Lan season, Meritorious Artist Pham Phuong Thao officially released her new MV "Carrying Mother to Heaven".

"Carrying Mother to Heaven" is a new composition by Pham Phuong Thao, set to music from the poem "Carrying Mother to Go Out" by poet Khanh Duong. It can be said that from the poem to the song and the music video, it deeply evokes the boundless and overflowing nature of sacred maternal love, where tears flow not only "downward" but also "upward".

Sharing her thoughts at the MV launch event, Meritorious Artist Pham Phuong Thao confided: Everyone has deep affection for their parents, but Pham Phuong Thao rarely says "I love you" to her parents; instead, she expresses it through actions and concrete acts of care.

She often sings new songs to her mother, and with this new song, Pham Phuong Thao sang it to her mother first. She said that her mother initially thought it was good but "a little strange," ethereal, while her mother prefers sweet songs. "After recording, Thao played it for her mother again. With music, she could feel it more easily, and she praised it, so Thao felt very confident," she said.

Responding to the question of whether it's difficult to set other authors' poems to music, Pham Phuong Thao shared: "Whether it's easy or difficult to write music or lyrics of your own or someone else's depends on your mood and emotions. Sometimes it takes a whole month to finish, but sometimes you come across a poetic idea and write quickly and beautifully."

“The encounter between two souls, Pham Phuong Thao and the author, is a blessed connection, one I cherish and respect. The author of the poem is a very sincere and kind older brother of mine. I often read his poems, and I like his poetic ideas. There are things that don't need much explanation; sometimes, when one person says something, the other can understand,” she said.

The singer from Nghe An also confessed: "I may seem strong on the outside, but sometimes I'm very vulnerable. I've experienced two unexpected losses, the separation from two great teachers, Mr. Quy Duong and Mr. An Thuyen. I didn't anticipate the pain of parting with loved ones, so I was very afraid. I'm often haunted by the thought of my parents leaving me one day. At that time, I resolved not to allow myself to be weak, not to worry or be afraid, but to think about how to live so that my parents would be happy, at peace, and have no regrets while they are still alive."

The music video "Carrying Mother to Heaven" was directed by Lam Ha, with cinematography by Tuan Trinh.musicThe work depicts a dream of carrying one's mother in a state of blissful serenity. Based on Pham Phuong Thao's own idea that dance should be used to convey the spirit of the piece, and with the performance of dancers Quang Huy and Tuyet Anh, director Lam Ha has perfected the dream of "Carrying Mother to Heaven," a farewell that is painful yet gentle and optimistic.

For Phạm Phương Thảo personally, "Carrying Mother to Heaven" continues to be an impressive creation after a series of previous works that have left a mark and been highly appreciated by both professionals and audiences, such as: "Nghệ Girl," "The Victorious Young Man," "Homeland on the Day of Return," "A Little Love I Send," "Dreaming of Love," "Fragile You," etc. Currently, Phạm Phương Thảo is one of the rare singers pursuing a career in composing lyrical folk music. Notably, Phạm Phương Thảo always expands her songwriting scope to other genres, not just folk music. Some of her compositions for contemporary music are very popular, such as "Fragile You"...
