Female doctor was slashed repeatedly on a deserted street
While walking on the street, a female doctor was suddenly attacked from behind by a man who slashed her repeatedly with a weapon and snatched her handbag.
On November 16, District 9 Police, Ho Chi Minh City, said they were still investigating and pursuing a daring robbery that had just occurred in the area. The victim was identified as Ms. A (born in 1974, residing in District 9), currently a doctor at a clinic in Dong Nai.

Lying on the hospital bed, answering the reporter weakly, Ms. A said that at about 5:30 am that same day, she walked from her house in Phuoc Long B ward, district 9, to Hanoi highway to catch the bus to work. While she was walking on an internal asphalt road in the residential area (near the Hanoi highway), suddenly a young man on a motorbike appeared from behind and rushed towards her.
At this time, she heard the sound of a motorbike so she turned around and saw this young man holding a weapon in his hand rushing towards her, swinging and slashing at her. By reflex, she used her hand to block the robber's slashes, causing her hand to be seriously injured and she lost a lot of blood.
The suspect then snatched the female doctor’s handbag. Quick-witted and reckless, the doctor struggled with the robber while shouting for help from the people around her.

Seeing this, the robber quickly jumped into his car and fled onto the Hanoi highway. The victim was then taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
According to records, the small road where Ms. A had the accident was deserted and had no security cameras. Nearby was an empty lot used for parking containers, dump trucks, etc.
