This is considered a new and pioneering step in the country in bringing female traffic police officers to participate in patrolling and escorting, jobs that were previously undertaken by male traffic police officers.
For now, the City Police Department of Road and Railway Traffic Police has directed female traffic police officers to sit in the back and hold batons to direct traffic when leading groups, while the male traffic police officers are still responsible for controlling large-displacement motorbikes.
