On the morning of January 8, the Department of Road and Railway Traffic Police (Ministry of Public Security) in coordination with the Department of Road and Railway Traffic Police of Ho Chi Minh City Police, officially implemented a plan to send female traffic police officers to join the diplomatic delegation escort team.

This is considered a new step forward and a pioneer in the country in bringing female traffic police officers to participate in patrolling and leading groups, jobs that were previously undertaken by male traffic police officers.
For now, the City Police Department of Road and Railway Traffic Police has directed female traffic police officers to only sit in the back and hold a baton to direct traffic, while the male traffic police officers are still responsible for controlling large-displacement motorbikes.
