American actress hosts FIFA Best Player awards ceremony

The world football federation FIFA has announced the identities of two MCs for the 2016 football awards Gala.

Joining Eva Longori as host of the FIFA event is famous German MC Marco Scheyrel.

Longoria is best known for her role in the television series “Desperate Housewives” (2004-2012). The star was also nominated for a Golden Globe, and also worked as a director and producer.

Compared to Longoria, MC Schreyl has been involved in television for a longer time. This star participated in two shows, Pop Idol and the German version of Britain's Got Talent, for ten years.

The FIFA Awards Gala will take place on the evening of January 9 in Switzerland. FIFA will broadcast the ceremony live on its official website and YouTube.

The most important award of the Gala night was the Best FIFA Men's Player. The three players who made it to the final list of contenders were Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.

In the Best Coach category, Claudio Ranieri (Leicester City) will compete with Zinedine Zidane (Real Madrid) and Fernando Santos (Portugal). The three candidates for the Best Women's Player category include Melanie Behringer (Bayern Munich), Marta (Rosenhard) and Carli Lloyd (Houston Dash).

The finalists for the Best Goal award do not have any candidates from Europe. Instead, there are three goals from the Copa Libertadores, the Malaysian Championship and the South American U17 Women's Football Championship.
