Female DJ and lover lead drug ring

On April 19, Ho Chi Minh City police arrested a gang illegally storing military weapons, buying and selling, and transporting drugs led by Vo Trong Nghia (24 years old, from Hai Phong) and his lover Tran Thi Trang (25 years old, from Can Tho).

Previously, Task Force 363 of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, while patrolling the Tran Hung Dao - Nguyen Tri Phuong intersection (District 5), discovered a group of people in a yellow Mercedes car with suspicious signs, so they stopped it for inspection. Many tattooed young men in the car tried to resist but were restrained.

Police discovered Nghia and two others carrying guns, bullets, and machetes. There was a bag of crystal meth in the car's trunk. The group was taken to the Criminal Police Department (PC02, Ho Chi Minh City Police) for questioning.

Nghia said he bought the gun and bullets online for self-defense.

Searching his house, the police discovered another gun, 6 bullets, 3 knives and swords of various types... in another luxury Mercedes. Nghia's safe had 2 or 2 notebooks recording details of income and expenditure, customer debts with special symbols.

Suspecting that he was part of a drug trafficking ring, the police worked with Trang - who lived as husband and wife with Nghia.

Trang said she used to work as a DJ in a bar, occasionally buying some ecstasy and meth to sell to drug addicts. Since meeting Nghia, she heard that her boyfriend was a junior of drug lord Oanh "Ha" (Dung "Ha's" sister and is internationally wanted), so she started a business together.

Nghia, who had loaned money at high interest rates at the Tho Mo border gate (Long An) bordering Cambodia, knew of a large supply of drugs so he bought them to sell. Trang was responsible for distributing the goods to agents in Saigon, selling about 1,000 ecstasy pills a day.

If customers need large quantities, Nghia and Trang can deliver 3 kg of crystal meth or tens of thousands of ecstasy pills.

Expanding the investigation, the police arrested the couple Duong Thi Truc (26 years old, from Ca Mau), confiscated the press, mixing machine, and drug precursors used to dilute crystal meth... to sell for profit.

Ho Chi Minh City police are hunting for those involved.
