(Baonghean) As the Principal of the Ky Son District Ethnic Minority Secondary School, Ms. Tran Thi Chau is always a pioneer in all tasks, passionate about research, creativity, and has many highly awarded initiatives. She has personally won many noble titles awarded by the State as well as the Department of Education and Training. The school she leads is always the leading unit in the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son District.
Graduated from the College of Education in 1980, she left her hometown Anh Son to teach in the mountainous district of Ky Son. After 5 years, she was appointed as Vice Principal and Principal in 1998, when the district's Ethnic Minority Secondary School separated from Ky Son High School. Right from the first days of separation, the school's facilities and teaching staff encountered many difficulties. Determining that professional quality is the core for the school's development, every year, at the beginning of the school year, she coordinated with the professional, departments, and organizations in the school to arrange a reasonable team of teachers. She also enthusiastically researched and sought new methods and solutions for teaching as well as scientific management to apply in the school's practice and had initiatives and experiences recognized at level 4 at the provincial level.
In addition to her professional duties, she also does a good job of advising all levels and sectors, paying attention to building the school's facilities and infrastructure to gradually meet the needs of teaching and learning. Since the separation, the school only had one building with 10 classrooms, but now it has 3 high-rise buildings, enough classrooms for 19 classes per shift. The school has 2 computer rooms with 70 computers (50 computers connected to the internet), a 3-storey public house for teachers to stay in. For 11 consecutive years, the school has achieved the title of excellent progress at the provincial level, being the first secondary school in the district to achieve National Standards Phase I. In the 2010-2011 school year, the school was honored to receive the Third Class Independence Medal.
With her expertise and leadership skills as a principal, Ms. Chau is considered the person steering the "ship" of Ky Son Ethnic Minority Secondary School, making the school worthy of being the flagship of the district's education and training sector, a trusted address and pride of the ethnic minorities of Ky Son district whose children study here.
Ms. Tran Thi Chau won Third Prize, Nghe An Province Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2011.
