Korean female journalist records moments in Vietnam
With a special affection for Vietnam, Korean female journalist Brenda Paik used her camera to record moments of life and the beauty of Vietnamese people, and compiled them into a book to widely introduce to the world.

Ms. Paik confided: “On every road in Vietnam that I have traveled, I have taken memorable photos. In 2002, when I arrived in Vietnam, there was only one ATM in Hanoi, but now there are many foreign banks and ATMs. I realize that everything here has changed incredibly quickly.”
Ms. Paik is Korean-American but grew up in Canada. In 2002, she moved to Hanoi with her husband, Mr. Jan, after losing their beloved son Tommy. She confided: "Vietnam is a wonderful land that gives people more strength to overcome pain."
As a journalist (she works for The Korea Times in Los Angeles), Brenda Paik does not choose to write articles to describe the people and beautiful landscapes of Vietnam because she believes that is not enough to talk about this country. She uses visual language, folk songs and proverbs, gathering them together with the hope that Vietnam Moment can express some of the different aspects of the country and people on the S-shaped strip of land.
She was very proud when talking about her book and her collaboration. “I am very happy to create a photo book with Vietnamese friends combining Vietnamese poems and folk idioms. I have done something meaningful, contributing a small part to building the cooperative relationship of the three countries (Vietnam - Korea - America) that I love,” she confided.
