After surveying more than 170,000 women aged 25 - 55, scientists at the University of East Anglia (UK) found that women who regularly drink 2 cups of tea a day reduce their risk of ovarian cancer by 31%.
Specifically, those who consume foods and drinks high in flavonols (tea, red wine, apples and grapes) and flavanones (oranges, tangerines, grapefruits) are less likely to develop the disease. These antioxidants protect the ovaries and reduce the risk of cancer.
Another study by scientists at Curtin University (Australia) also found that drinking tea early can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer in old age.
