Floodwaters rise, people have to 'increase tolls' on transportation

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 16, in Hung Trung area, many villages were still deeply flooded, many roads were cut off, causing danger to the traffic of local people.

The heavy rain on October 15 flooded many crops and houses of the people of Hung Trung commune (Hung Nguyen district), of which 100% of the houses in village 8B were flooded nearly 1 meter deep. In particular, the inter-commune road from Hung Trung to Quan Hanh town (Nghi Loc) was flooded nearly 2km, cutting off traffic, endangering the movement of people in the area.

It is known that Hung Trung is a low-lying area. Every time it rains heavily, water from neighboring areas flows here, causing prolonged flooding.

To overcome this situation, Hung Nguyen district has directed Hung Trung commune to coordinate, organize warnings and support vehicles to safely transport people, motorbikes and bicycles through dangerous areas.

Many sections were flooded 2-3 meters deep, making it extremely difficult for motorbikes to travel.

To be able to circulate, people in the commune had to put their motorbikes on bamboo boats to escape the isolated area.

Trucks are used to 'jump' vehicles and people through unsafe deep water areas.

Local boats were also mobilized to help people cross the dangerous road.

Warning signs have been put up by the Hung Trung commune authorities and warning ropes have been stretched on both sides of the dangerous road section.

Just on the morning of October 16, since early morning, hundreds of people have passed through this road thanks to the "boost" by truck.
