On March 7, Thai Hoa Town Police announced that they had just initiated a case and prosecuted Tran Thi Thuy (residing in Thai Hoa Town) for theft. Because she is raising a child under 36 months old, Thuy was released on bail but was banned from leaving the locality.

Previously, on February 23, the owner of Viet Lam coffee shop, in Tan Thanh block, Hoa Hieu ward (Thai Hoa town) reported to the police that at noon on February 23, the shop was robbed of nearly 4 million VND in cash and dozens of phone cards worth nearly 6 million VND.

After receiving the report, Thai Hoa Town Police began investigating and verifying. Through the work of zoning the subject in the area, the detectives saw a female subject in her 20s with many suspicious signs. Along with extracting images from the camera, the investigation agency saw that at noon on February 23, 3 customers entered the restaurant one after another, including a male and female couple and a girl.

Through comparing the license plate number of the motorbike recorded by the camera and seeing it match the license plate number of the motorbike parked in Thuy's house, Thai Hoa Town Police have grounds to confirm that Tran Thi Thuy is the suspect in the theft at Viet Lam cafe.

Immediately after that, Tran Thi Thuy was summoned to the investigation agency to work. Initially, Tran Thi Thuy denied all accusations. However, after presenting documents and evidence, especially images extracted from the camera, the subject confessed to her crime.

Thuy said that because she was raising a small child and lacked money, she took the risk of committing the above theft. At noon on February 23, Thuy wore a hooded jacket and a mask and rode a motorbike around coffee shops in Thai Hoa town to steal property.

When arriving at Viet Lam coffee shop, seeing that the shop was open but there were no customers or staff, Thuy stopped her car, pretended to be a customer, and entered the shop. Looking around and not seeing anyone, Thuy went to the counter, opened the cabinet, took all the cash and dozens of phone cards, and quickly left the shop.

Searching Thuy's house, Thai Hoa Town Police seized all the cash and dozens of scratch cards, total value of nearly 10,000,000 VND.
