On the floor of the barn, she lined it with rice husks or sawdust with a thickness of 20cm. Ms. Luong also fermented biological yeast and rice bran with a ratio of 1kg of yeast/3kg of rice bran for 3 days. This mixture was spread on the surface of the rice husks on the floor of the barn, for every 1kg of biological yeast mixture spread over 40m2, this pad can be used for about 1 year.
Ms. Luong said: “Applying this method makes use of agricultural by-products such as rice husks, sawdust, and corn stalks, so the cost is low but the efficiency is very high. Since applying this model, the stench and toxic gases in the barn have been reduced, creating a clean environment for livestock to grow well. Thereby, reducing the incidence of diseases, and the chicken flocks grow quickly.”

When the chickens are nearly 2 months old, she lets them out in a fenced garden twice a day, each time for about 2 hours. This helps increase their resistance and makes the chickens firmer, so the family's chickens are popular with traders.
After nearly 4 months of raising, the chickens weigh from 1.3kg - 1.5kg/chicken. On average, each year she sells over 3 tons of chicken meat, earning about 350 million VND.
