Thanks to proper care, after 5 years, the wild boar herd of Mr. Tran Dinh Van's family (Dien Luc hamlet, Ky Son, Tan Ky) has increased to over 200; bringing in an income of over 200 million VND/year.
With the advantage of vast hilly and forest land, natural food, suitable for grazing, Mr. Van's family invested in raising wild boars. After selecting a pair of wild boars with purebred genes for breeding, Mr. Van raised them semi-free-range to suit their running and foraging habits, similar to living in the wild.

Wild boars usually reproduce twice a year, with an average of 7-8 pigs per litter. Thanks to proper care, his family's pigs have grown well. The average weight of each adult is 80-100 kg. Cared for with a completely natural process, the quality of wild boar meat from Mr. Van's family farm is very delicious; customers from Vinh districts, cities and Hanoi come to buy.
Every year, his family sells over 1.5 tons of commercial pigs, at 150,000 VND/kg and over 30 breeding pigs (each pig costs 2 million VND); earning over 200 million VND in profit.

In addition to raising wild boars, on the farm area of over 3 hectares, Mr. Van also dug ponds to raise fish and raise frogs for breeding. He also has 5 hectares of raw material forest, which is planted with cassava and grass to make food for livestock. Currently, he also raises dozens of goats climbing hills, hundreds of chickens, ducks, geese, and birds.
Every year, he sells a batch of fish and frogs with about 2 tons, earning a profit of nearly 100 million VND. He sells commercial goats, one batch per year, earning nearly 50 million VND. In addition, the income from selling chickens, ducks, and geese each year is about 20 million VND. He also grows 5 hectares of raw acacia, which is over 5 years old; the first batch sold earned over 300 million VND. In total, each year, Mr. Van's family earns a profit of nearly 500 million VND from the VACR comprehensive farm.

Two months ago, Mr. Van imported 10 ostriches for breeding, each costing 3 million VND, from the Thuy Phuong Poultry Research Center (Hanoi). Ostrich products such as meat, eggs, skin and internal organs all have high economic value. Thanks to favorable natural conditions and abundant natural food, his family's ostrich flock has grown very quickly; each weighs up to 20 kg. Mr. Van is continuing to increase the flock, planning to sell them at the end of the year; bringing his family a large source of income.
Sharing the secret to developing an effective integrated livestock farm model, Mr. Van said: "It is necessary to focus on choosing good livestock breeds that are suitable for natural conditions, taking advantage of natural food sources, and reducing investment costs. At the same time, always being diligent in learning to understand the techniques of caring for each species of livestock and choosing livestock breeds that meet market demand is an important factor for success."
In the coming time, Mr. Van will expand the wild boar breeding area to 5 hectares and continue to multiply the herd, providing breeds to local people; developing this herd of high economic value livestock.
